Andreas Schicho is an assistant professor and managing senior physician of radiology at the University Hospital Regensburg. His clinical focus is interventional radiology as well as neuroradiology. He is especially interested in the continuous improvement of interdisciplinary emergency care.

His research focus is interventional tumor therapy as well as the use of artificial intelligence for more accurate assessment and prognosis estimation of cerebral metastases in magnetic resonance imaging.

In a recent research collaboration with the LMU Center for Leadership and People Management at LMU Munich and the Department of Psychology at the University of Regensburg, he studied the relationship between health IT characteristics and organizational variables among healthcare workers. In the current interdisciplinary research project, he is the radiology PI.

Organizationally, he tries to use the possibilities of digitalization for the benefit of patient care. This includes the use of artificial intelligence for co- or initial assessment of computed tomography scans, e.g., in the diagnosis of cerebral hemorrhage or stroke.

Andreas completed his medical studies at HHU Düsseldorf in 2012 and has an additional Master of Health Business Administration from FAU Nuremberg-Erlangen since 2019. Since 2020, he is a certified auditor (TÜV-Süd) for management systems according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.
